Fish Sandwich

Best fish sandwich of my life. Period.

Flashback

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you
didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away
from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore.
Dream.
Discover.

And I had this picture up on my computer. Creamy perfection.

Lucia!

Today was my roommate Lucia's last day here! As well as her birthday! We had a really fun time and hopefully I'll get to see her again, such a sweet girl. Maybe I'll even go to Slovakia to see her :)

Preggo.

Maternity wear.... makes me laugh every time.

Truthfully I started getting really freaked out during it, because it's really heavy and strapped tightly to you (the baby-bump) and I couldn't tie my shoes or sit down in a chair properly, and it started messing with my mind a little bit... I cried a little... But more laughs.

Basketball

Today I did filming for a commercial for the world championship of basketball that is coming here in August to Istanbul!

It was a ton of fun and I met a lot of really awesome people. One of my new friends is Robbie from England who’s been here for about a year and is speaking fluent Turkish already, I’m going to meet him at the art gallery he works at to take lessons on Wednesday which I am so excited about J Picture of us doing the final shot for the commercial… we were screwing around a little bit here…

Go Karting

I had the most amazing time go-karting in the mountains. It was in a town about an hour on the Asian side of Istanbul... So much fun, not a lot of leg room and some bumps and bruises but it was an experience well worth it :) During the adventure Alp and I did a mini hike...

Pictures:
1. Alp next to the Kart 2. The sunset 3. Deep in thought during hike...

Sunday

Sunday night I went out with my friends Ana, Camila, Dominique and myself (of course). Ana is from BCN, Spain, Camila from Brazil and Dominique from Holland. We went to an area called Tunel and had some incredible food, then went for drinks at various bars. Overall a successful night in Istanbul...

Dictionary.

Today I got gum stuck between the pages in my English-Turkish Dictionary....

Translations for the following words... you will be missed:
Garbage, Gargle, Garland, Garlic, Ghastly, Ghost, Giant, Gibbet, Gibe, Give-up, Good, Good for nothing, Grab, Grace, Gracious, Grim, Grimace, Grime, Grin, Groundnut.

Flies.

So there are flies here. And sometimes they get into the house. And sometimes people feel it's necessary to get rid of them.

Home made flame throwers are not the answer.

In the guy's apartment a certain male model who will not be named decided to make a fly killing machine by lighting a rolled up newspaper on fire and holding it in front of an aerosol can while spraying it at the flies.

When being yelled at for using a less then effective and highly dangerous method to remove the flies quote:

"If I flame then they will fly away to tell their friends not to return"

Summary: Stereotypes often more accurate then we want to believe.

Americans

So we got some Americans in our agency! Jeff from California and Daniel from New York.

I'm excited to have some english as a first language people around...

Cars

So I think I've mentioned before that people are crazy drivers. That is the world's biggest understatement.

Two days ago we hit a woman with our van.

It was slightly funny so I apologize for laughing out loud. I mean she didn't die... she wasn't even that hurt.

But then Karma paid me back...

Yesterday I got hit by a car. Yes... it finally happened. After BCN I was pretty positive my luck was running out. I mean I'm totally fine (mom, dad, grandma, grandpa... it's okay).

So they have crosswalks here... but nobody pays attention to them, and I'm totally a stop, look both ways then cross the street kind of gal but things just went wrong.
I have a roommate who always shouts out "RESPECT THE ZEBRA" when cars zoom past us... They call cross walks "Zebra"... I don't really feel like I need to explain that one.

Anyways it was a taxi and they slammed on their breaks and barely tapped me but it was still bogus. I decided to learn some choice Turkish words after this one....

Nicoletta.

I'm doing this for you babe.

Posting. Or Lack thereof....

What can I say? Life's too good to spend it on the computer :)
